Why Us?
All labels and training techniques aside, Instinct Canine focuses on every dog as an individual. All dogs have different backgrounds genetically, physically, and psychologically. Therefore, it is a must that we treat their behavior and training protocols accordingly.
Owners are included every step of the way. This is accomplished by avoiding the traditional “boot camp” or
“board and train” model. Daily training and coaching (Monday-Friday) has proven to show the best results of any training program.
Our day training packages give your dog the chance to get out of the house, and learn with a pack of other dogs. This serves as a controlled setting, while allowing dogs to socialize, train, and experience new environments. The exposure, paired with structured socialization, makes for a fun and less stressful way to learn. Skills in obedience are also gleaned from dogs with more advanced training. “Monkey see, Monkey do.” This goes for dogs too!
After each day, your dog will be returned home in a calm and orderly fashion. We take the time to cover all troubleshooting and training tips along the way. When it’s all said and done, you, the owner, become the trainer. All of this without the worry of separation anxiety in a kennel type setting.
A day of training with our pack includes every aspect of canine behavioral health. Obedience, exercise, socialization, and exposure. This is the basic formula to keep pets happy, healthy, calm and satisfied.
Our 4 legged trainees are picked up from home every morning. Monday-Friday. Throughout the day, we are interacting via training and enrichment.
STRUCTURED WALKS ARE ALWAYS INCLUDED.
By the end of day, every dog is ready to rest. We return all pups back home in the late afternoon/early evening. Upon our return, we practice the same structure your dog has learned at day camp. From the front door, back into their homes. Every step is structured with obedience. At this time, we are able to take a undivided, hands on approach with each owner to coach on every protocol necessary. This makes for a well trained owner and dog.
Most households take about two to three weeks to gain competence in their new routine. Follow ups and refreshers are more than happily accommodated.
Hello, my name is Ben,
I am the founder and head trainer of Instinct Canine. The training and rehabilitation of rescues has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. It has always come naturally to me. Almost as a kind of kinship with the dogs. Countless hours of my life have been spent bonding, and learning from these fascinating creatures.
My choice in literature, along with education, has been centered around canines. Their behavior, as well as how to communicate with them, is my main area of expertise.
My hope is to share my knowledge and skills with as many dog owners as possible. With the right kind of patience, the understanding of our canine population’s culture can lead to the management of any case. Training with efficiency, we can create a more calm and functional relationship between you and your dog.
